Jocelyn Lampron, Prof. Geologist

Jocelyn is the President, CEO and Co-founder of Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. a global geological consulting firm.

He brings over 13 years of geological experience in the areas of directional and horizontal drilling, mud systems and drilling operations to the Hopewell team.

His geological career began in Western Canada with the development of the Foothill's cardium plays, Wabaskaw and Lloydminster heavy oil projects and shallow gas experience in Southern Alberta.

Jocelyn is a registered member of APEGGA

Milan Ac, B.Sc. Geol.

Milan earned is Bachelor of Science in Geology at the Univerity of Calgary. 

His career as a Geologist began in 2005 where he gained experience in horizontal, carbonates and CBM wells.  He has much experience in monitering and controlling directional drilling (carbonates, sandstones, shales, coal and precipitates). 
Hopewell has given Milan the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in Western Canada, focusing on horizontal wells in Saskatechewan.

Perry Clark

As a junior geologist, Perry spent several years with the Department of Natural Resources in New Brunswick as a field assistant mapping the Sussex sub-basin. During this time he developed mapping expertise through working with Professors Adrian Park (UNB) and Clint St. Peter (DNR). Together they remapped the Alberta Mines, Boudreau Village, Stoney Creek and Indian Mountain Formations.

In 2005, Perry was recruited by Hopewell and moved to Alberta where he continues to gain geological experience as a well site geologist.

Mike Moffett, B.Sc. Geol. Eng.

Mike is the Vice President of Business Development and Co-founder of Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. a global geological consulting firm.

After graduating from the University of New Brunswick Mike moved to Alberta and began his wellsite consulting career in 1993 after working as a roughneck for Precision Drilling. He brings domestic and international geological experiences to the Hopewell team.  Mike is currently using his geological expertise in India where he is sitting directional wells.

Simon Meis

As a junior well site geologist, Simon gained experience with Blackrock Ventures where he provided well site geological supervision for the drilling of 33 horizontal wells in the Bluesky Formation near Slave Lake Alberta. Through this experience Simon quickly became the lead hand geologist.

Hopewell Petroleum recruited Simon in the fall of 2005. Since joining Hopewell, he has worked in Southern Saskatchewan drilling horizontal, development wells for Crescent Point Energy and vertical wells in the Cardium Formation North of Cochrane, Alberta for Mystic Energy Inc.

Simon has been one of our most requested geologists from clients and continues to excel.

Bob Leonhardt

Bob is the co-owner of DIAROB Diversified Inc. an independent geological consulting firm professionally liaisons with Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. in order to provide the best geologists and service to both DIAROB and Hopewell’s clients. Bob has proudly worked with Mike and Jocelyn since Hopewell’s inception and prior at Merlin Petroleum Services where they first met.

Bob is a geological honors graduate from the University of Calgary and also holds a diploma in Exploration Technology from NAIT.

Bob specializes in coal, coal bed methane, and the oil sands to name a few.

He has worked throughout Alberta, western Saskatchewan and north eastern British Columbia on a wide variety of wells ranging in depths from 500-3000 metres.

Catalin Zagan

Catalin graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Al.I. Cuza University of Iasi in Romania.  He brings several years of extensive experience working in Western Canada and Romania as a well site geologist.

As a Geology teacher for 9 years Catalin was responsible for instructing High School students essential geological concepts in physical and historical geology such as: Earth's surface features, rocks, minerals and fossils, mapping, and mineral resources.

 

Dave Jackson

Dave is an accomplished Geologist with over 30 years experience working in various countries, all over the world. Dave’s experience internationally includes work in Syria, Mozambique, Trinidad, China, Tanzania, France, Holland, and the list goes on.

His extensive geological expertise ranges from data collection, data processing, drill stem testing, coring, as well as maximizing end results all while minimizing costs/downtime for the operator.

He has overseen many key projects including the Fyzabad Oil Field, where his expertise resulted in the proposal of 14 new well locations, due to his re-mapping abilities.

His experiences includes (but are not limited to) geological wellsite and field supervision, operations exploration and development, mapping projects, and reconnaissance work.

As a self-starter, with strong analytical skills, Dave effectively and efficiently meets corporate and team objectives within a multi-disciplinary team.

Mike Smith

Mike Smith has 20 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has 4000 plus working well site days. He has extensive experience in Eastern and Western Canada including under balanced carbonate and clastic horizontals as well as deep Foothill carbonate horizontal wells. Mike also brings with him years of oversea and offshore experience in Thailand, New Found Land, New Zealand and Pakistan. 

The majority of Mikes wellsite work in the past 5 years has been concentrated in the Suffex area in New Brunswick.

Bruce Fox

Bruce has been involved directly in wellsite supervision since 1979, giving him 30+ years in the industry.  He has supervised heavy oil sand and coring projects in Fort McMurray and has worked offshore NewFoundland, Nova Scotia and the Arctic Islands.  His experience doesnt stop in Canada.  Bruce has worked onshore Italy, offshore Iran, Gabon and Kazakstan.  Currently Bruce is working offshore China and is extensively experienced in all aspects of Geology.

David Doucet

David has extensive experience working throughout Canada and Internationally.  Some examples of places David has worked are:  China, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Trinidad, Libya, Alberta, NS and NFLD.  He has worked both on and offshore and has excellent managerial skills.

 

David has been working on rotation offshore China for the past 2 years.

 

Cyril MacPherson

Cyril is a well seasoned Geologist with over 35 years in the Oil and Gas industry.  Cyril began his career working as an exploration and mine geologist and has not looked back.  He has worked throughout Canada from Alberta, Saskatchewan, offshore Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.  Cyrils experience does not stop in Canada, he has worked in Algeria, Offshore Mexico and China and various other destinations world wide.

 

Cyril has been working Offshore China for the past 2 years.

Herb Christmann

Herb has worked as a wellsite geologist since 1980. He has extensive and diversified experience throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin as well as supervising projects in Texas, Michigan, Mongolia and offshore China.  His work has given him extensive experience in conventional oil and gas wells, heavy oil wells, critical sour gas wells, as well as directional, horizontal, underbalanced drilling and air drilling.

 

Herb has been working offshore China since November 2008.

Adrain Buda, Prof. Geologist

Adrian graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology & Geophysics from Iasi University in Romania.  He has been working as a geologist since 1979 and is experienced in domestic and international drilling.  Adrian is complety fluent in English, French and Romanian and has a working knowledge in Spanish and Italian.

Adian brings with him many years of experience in drilling for Oil and Gas throughout Canada and is a registered member of APEGGA.

Wilbur has worked extensively throughout Canada incuding W1-W6, BC, Quebec, offshore NS and within the USA.  He has experience in oan and offshore drilling, standard, directional, horizontal, underbalanced wells, coiled tubing units and multi-rig drilling programs.

Wilbur graduated from the university of western canada with a Geology major.  He has been working in his field since 1975 and has excellent experience working in the Oil & Gas industry.

 

Paul Jurcic has been working with Hopewell for the past 5 years.  He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of Geology and has the experience to prove it.

 

Scott Nelson B. Sc. Geology

Scott Nelson has worked with Hopewell Petroleum for the past 3 years.  He has been an extremely valuable asset to Hopewells team of Geologists.  Throughout his time here he has displayed extensive knowledge in vertical, directional and horizonatal wells across the Western Canada sedimentary basin.  He has extensive experience evaluating conventional clastic and carbonate reservoir rocks for production potential.  Also significant experience in unconventional reservoirs (tight gas sands).

 

Kamran Bukhari M.Sc. Geology

Kamran is currently working in Southern Alberta as a junior geologist with one of our seniors.  Prior to working with Hopewell, Kamran has worked in the NWT cutting samples for Weatherford and has worked for 5 years with Mineral Centre Lahore in Pakistan.

Kamran has two years of geological work experience in the upstream Oil & Gas sector and more than 4 years of relevant experience in mineral setup.
