Colin Reeves B.Sc. Geol
Born and raised in Fernie, British Colombia, Colin moved to Alberta to study Geology at the University of Calgary. Colin was employed with Komex International during his 3rd and 4th years of university doing environmental studies and graduated with a double major in Geology and Applied Environmental Geology in 2006.
Colin gained his well site experience working with Husky Energy in North Western Alberta chasing oil in the Cardium sands as well as North Eastern Alberta chasing shallow gas in the Viking formation and heavy oil in the Dina Sand.
Jocelyn Lampron
Jocelyn is the President, CEO and Co-founder of Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. a global geological consulting firm.
Jocelyn brings over 11 years of geological experience in the areas of directional and horizontal drilling, mud systems and drilling operations to the Hopewell team.
His geological career began in Western Canada with the development of the Foothill's cardium plays, Wabaskaw and Lloydminster heavy oil projects and shallow gas experience in Southern Alberta.
Dave Henderson, B.Sc. Geol.
Dave earned is Bachelor of Science in Geology at Dalhousie University. Before starting his geological career he travelled extensively throughout South America where he worked and studied Spanish.
His career as a geologist began at Hunter Dickinson Inc. in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. This is where he received excellent training on GIS mapping applications. This lead him to grass roots exploration throughout central and northern B.C.
His career then lead him to gain greater experience in drilling, field work and 3D mapping on the Pebble Project in Western Alaska (one of the world's larges gold/copper porphyry deposits in the world).
After several years he ventured home to Calgary, Alberta Canada to open his career horizons in oil and gas and joined Hopewell Petroleum Consultants.
Hopewell has given Dave the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in the western Canadian sedimentary basin as well as experience in Eastern Canada in New Brunswick. His geological expertise lies in shallow gas exploration and heavy oil well exploration.
Perry Clark
As a junior geologist, Perry spent several years with the Department of Natural Resources in New Brunswick as a field assistant mapping the Sussex sub-basin. During this time he developed mapping expertise through working with Professors Adrian Park (UNB) and Clint St. Peter (DNR). Together they remapped the Alberta Mines, Boudreau Village, Stoney Creek and Indian Mountain Formations.
In 2005, Perry was recruited by Hopewell and moved to Alberta where he continues to gain geological experience as a well site geologist.
Mike Moffett, B.Sc. Geol. Eng.
Mike is the Vice President of Business Development and Co-founder of Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. a global geological consulting firm.
After graduating from the University of New Brunswick Mike moved to Alberta and began his wellsite consulting career in 1993 after working as a roughneck for Precision Drilling. He brings domestic and international geological experiences to the Hopewell team.
Simon Meis
As a junior well site geologist, Simon gained experience with Blackrock Ventures where he provided well site geological supervision for the drilling of 33 horizontal wells in the Bluesky Formation near Slave Lake Alberta. Through this experience Simon quickly became the lead hand.
Hopewell Petroleum recruited Simon in the fall of 2005. Since joining Hopewell, he has worked in Southern Saskatchewan drilling horizontal, development wells for Crescent Point Energy and vertical wells in the Cardium Formation North of Cochrane, Alberta for Mystic Energy Inc.
Bob Leonhardt
Bob is the co-owner of DIAROB Diversified Inc. an independent geological consulting firm professionally liaisons with Hopewell Petroleum Consulting Ltd. in order to provide the best geologists and service to both DIAROB and Hopewell’s clients. Bob has proudly worked with Mike and Jocelyn since Hopewell’s inception and prior at Merlin Petroleum Services where they first met.
Bob is a geological honors graduate from the University of Calgary and also holds a diploma in Exploration Technology from NAIT.
Bob specializes in coal, coal bed methane, and the oil sands to name a few.
He has worked throughout Alberta, western Saskatchewan and north eastern British Columbia on a wide variety of wells ranging in depths from 500-3000 metres.
Brendan O’Hara
Brendan brings several years of extensive experience working offshore as a well site geologist.
Brendan’s international experienced includes working in the North Sea (Norway, Holland, Denmark & UK), Germany, Italy, Russia the Middle East (Kuwait & Saudi Arabia), West Africa (Cameroon, Gabon, Angola & DRC), and South-East Asia (Malaysia & Indonesia).
As co-ordinator of operations in Angola & Indonesia, Brendan gained enormous experience in many different projects. These projects ranged from orienting whipstocks & hook hangers, surveying large batches of pre-set conductor pipe, extended-reach wells (up to 9000m) including drilling from the German mainland to under the man-made production island of Mittelplat and the environmentally sensitive area of Wytch Farm on the south coast of England. His expansive experience also includes handling the operations for Shell, Statoil, Maersk, BP, Chevron, Talisman, Total and Saudi Aramco.
Dave Jackson
Dave is an accomplished Geologist with over 30 years experience working in various countries, all over the world. Dave’s experience internationally includes work in Syria, Mozambique, Trinidad, China, Tanzania, France, Holland, and the list goes on.
His extensive geological expertise ranges from data collection, data processing, drill stem testing, coring, as well as maximizing end results all while minimizing costs/downtime for the operator.
He has overseen many key projects including the Fyzabad Oil Field, where his expertise resulted in the proposal of 14 new well locations, due to his re-mapping abilities.
His experiences includes (but are not limited to) geological wellsite and field supervision, operations exploration and development, mapping projects, and reconnaissance work.
As a self-starter, with strong analytical skills, Dave effectively and efficiently meets corporate and team objectives within a multi-disciplinary team.
Mike Smith
Mike Smith has 20 plus years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has 4000 plus working well site days. He has extensive experience in Eastern and Western Canada including under balanced carbonate and clastic horizontals as well as deep Foothill carbonate horizontal wells. Mike also brings with him years of oversea and offshore experience in Thailand, New Found Land, New Zealand and Pakistan.
Jim Stewart
With a bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Jimmy brings over 10 years experience to the oil and gas industry.
Jimmy has extensive knowledge in horizontal conventional drilling in various locations throughout Eastern and Western Canada.
Shane Woods
Shane is well skilled with over 20 years experience in the oil industy. Shane graduated from Dalhousie University with a bachelor degree in Geology and also has a bachelor of education from the University of Lethbridge. With his years of work and his extensive knowledge of the Eastern and Western Sedimentary Basin, Shane is well seasoned in all aspects of well site geology. Shane specializes in horizontal heavy oil wells.
Shannon Czemeres
Shannon joined the Hopewell Petroleum team in September of 2006 with a bachelor of Science in Geology and a minor in Geography from the University of Regina. Before working as a junior geologist for Hopewell, Shannon was employed with the RCMP as grounds keeper for 6 years in Regina.
Jason Wang
Jason graduated with a Master of Science in Petroleum Geology from the University of Petroleum in Beijing China. After moving to Calgary, Jason enrolled himself in Exploration Information Technology and began work with Norwest Engineering Ltd working as a Petroleum Technologist. Jason joined Hopewell Petroleum team in the fall of 2006.
C. Augereu
Carole joined Hopewells team Febuary 2007 and is presently working for Hopewell in Mozambique. Carol brings with her 8 years of extensive international experience.
